X-Men writer Gerry Dugan tweeted Alyssa WangArmor’s support in the current X-Men voting shenanigans, saying “Welcome to the X-Office, Alyssa – hope you survive the experience” An indication that Alyssa Wong is the previously unnamed new writer from the X-Men office.
Alyssa Wong is a science fiction and comic book author, winner of the Nebula Award, World Fantasy Award, and Locus Award. Studying fiction at North Carolina State University, graduating in 2017 with an MFA, in July 2018, Wong was hired by Blizzard Entertainment as a writer on Monitoring. Wong is currently the screenwriter for Marvel Comics Doctor Aphra Star Wars series, and is also known for writing comics such as Aero, Shang-Chi, Batman Urban Legends, Adventure Time, Future Fight First, Fearless and Carnage.
Alyssa Wong has already voiced her support for Armor in the upcoming X-Men vote, saying “She’s cute, she’s petite, she’ll punch you through a wall! Vote Armor 2022!#” while Zac Thompson backed Bleeding Cool’s support, saying“MICROMAX or not worth it. #XMenVote”. Victor La Vallee tweeted “Vote! Bling!” Traitor If Spurrier tweeted “VOTE LOWLY. What you see is what you get. What you read is all there is. AND THAT’S ENOUGH.” While Al Ewingsupporting Micromax said “LYNN I PIERCED MY FOOT ON A STRYYYYYYYFE #XMenVote” suggesting the character is basically Alan Partridge as a superhero.
Because, yes, just like last year, Marvel Comics is holding a reader vote to elect a Marvel character to the X-Men team. This time choose from Armor, Avalanche, Bling, Firestar, Gentle, Gorgon, Micromax, Penance, Siryn, and Surge. The result being announced as part of the second annual Hellfire in the X-Men Comics Gala. And those on the Marvel Insider program who live in the US can compete to appear in the Hellfire gala, drawn by the fashion/news event that last year saw a) lots of X-Men in dresses at the fad of b) celebrity appearances from the great and the good and c) the X-Men annexing and terraforming the planet Mars to become Arakko, a hotbed of interdimensional mutantity. What will they be doing this year, apart from the Vote? No idea.
Marvel is counting on fans to help select the new X-Men team once again! Following the success of last year’s X-Men election, the second annual event to choose Krakoa’s new Protectors will run from January 10 at 9:00 a.m. EST (just like now) until 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday. January 13. can vote at marvel.com/xmenvote.

Several nominations have been accepted to determine the latest member of one of the most iconic teams in the Marvel Universe. Now the final member of this new X-Men team is in YOUR hands! ARMOR: Hisako Ichiki can create a powerful psionic force field around her, giving her superhuman strength and durability. She planted the first Krakoan flower on Mars and, as a member of the New Mutants, helped her brothers around the world.
AVALANCHE: A longtime member of the Brotherhood, Dominikos Petrakis used his seismokinetic powers against the X-Men. Although he was killed by the Red Skull, he was one of countless mutants to be resurrected on Krakoa, where he became an agent of SWORD.
BLING! : A former member of the Gambit Knights team at Xavier School, Bling! most recently teamed up with Psylocke and her team to defend Krakoa despite doubts about the new mutant nation’s motives. She possesses a diamond-hard body, superhuman strength, and the ability to fire crystalline projectiles.
FIRE STAR: Angelica Jones is a veteran superhero, boasting former memberships in the Avengers, New Warriors, Young Allies, and the X-Men themselves – as well as being one of Spider-Man’s most incredible friends. . Despite her codename, her powers are based on microwaves, allowing her to ignite, melt, or superheat anything she targets. She hasn’t claimed Krakoa citizenship yet…
SOFT: The first X-Man to hail from the nation of Wakanda, Nezhno Abidemi now calls Krakoa his home. His mutant power allows him to exponentially increase his musculature, giving him nearly limitless strength and invulnerability.
GORGON: Like the mythical creature of its namesake, Tomi Shishido’s gaze can turn anyone who meets it to stone. Although he has many other superpowers, Gorgon’s proficiency with swords is his greatest strength. Using his skill with a blade, he was able to turn the tide at a crucial moment in the otherworldly sword contest. Sadly, he died doing this and came back… different.
MICROMAX: A British mutant, Scott Wright has served as an agent for various Crown agencies including MI13 and FI6. In the past, he was also briefly a member of Excalibur – and controversial O*N*E* – when he came into conflict with several of his fellow mutants.
PENANCE: Monet St. Croix presents himself as an almost perfect mutant specimen, with a wide range of powers and talents. Additionally, although she once considered it a burden, Monet is now able to switch from her mortal form of penance at will. She is currently co-CXO of X-Corp.
SIRYN: Daughter of the famous X-Man Banshee, Theresa Cassidy made a name for herself as a member of X-Factor, using the same sonic powers as her father. The current X-Factor team was finally able to free her from the influence of the divine known as the Morrigan, to whom she had sacrificed herself to save another mutant.
ASCEND: One of Krakoa’s most powerful electrokinetics, Noriko Ashida can produce devastating lightning and move at incredible speeds. She’s about to team up with her fellow former New X-Men to protect the next generation of mutants.
The election results, along with the full X-Men roster, will be revealed at the Hellfire in Marvel Comics Gala in June.
