When it comes to manga these days, it seems Man with chainsaw is one of the series you hear the most about. Tatsuki Fujimoto shocked the fandom with the intricate series a few years ago, and work on the franchise is underway. During their downtime, Fujimoto has been busy working on side projects and he’s teasing fans with new information about one of them.
The update was uploaded recently thanks to online fan pages like MangaMoguraRE. This is where news from Fujimoto’s upcoming anthology titled 17-21. The collection is expected to go live this week and will include at least four stories. The tales now have their own titles, so you can read them below:
- Niwa ni wa Niwa Niwatori ga Ita
- Sasaki-un ga Judan in Meta
- Koi was Moumoku
That much, Man with chainsaw fans aren’t sure if these are the only shorts in the collection or if there are more. It’s not hard to imagine that there are other untitled stories in this anthology, so fans should keep their ears open for further updates. After all, 17-21 was pretty mysterious from the start. And if you didn’t know, this isn’t the only anthology online.
A second collection from Fujimoto is set to debut in November. Fujimoto explained a bit about these books and the origin of their short films. In 17-21, the collection houses short films written by Fujimoto between these years of his life. His second anthology will follow his work until the age of 26, so fans can see how the artist’s style has changed over the years. And if you like his work in Man with chainsaw, well – these anthologies will show you how Fujimoto’s work from years ago helped bring the hit series to life.
