Malaysian actress Chan Su Ling added another feather to her cap after being asked to voice multiple characters in the English dub of the hit Japanese anime Kageki Shojo !!.

Kageki Shojo !! is a critically acclaimed shoujo anime that premiered in July of this year. It follows the story of Watanabe Sarasa, who dreams of being an otokoyaku, an actress who plays male roles in an all-female theater company.

In a tweet posted on Sunday, October 17, Chan said she was voicing one of the characters’ mothers in the anime’s English dub, which will be distributed by US entertainment company Funimation.

It is also understood that she will be voicing multiple students in the animation.

“I’m the first Malaysian voice actor in an American voiceover,” she said, adding that she was proud to prove that Malaysians can accomplish anything.

Kageki Shojo !! started life as a manga created by Kumiko Saiki. The series was published in Jump Kai magazine from 2012 to 2014 before being reissued as an omnibus in 2019.

Chan is a seasoned voice actress who has 19 voiceover credits under her belt, according to IMDb. She is best known for her role as Mayday in the critically acclaimed Malaysian video game No Straight Roads, and Ying from the popular Malaysian animated series. BoBoiBoy, among others.

Fluent in English, Malay and Cantonese, and Japanese, Chan has worked on over 500 commercials, 100 corporate videos, several American video games, and audiobooks.
