One-Punch Man really surprised fans by releasing a new version of the manga’s most recent chapter that brings huge changes to the events that happened in the previous version! The fight between Saitama and Garou has come to a head as the Human Monster saga nears its grand finale, and the series’ previous chapter teased that the two would come to a different kind of understanding as Saitama wanted to talk things over and find out. why Garou continued to transform his body in his attempts to become the ultimate evil. But this is no longer the case.
Although this may have been what happened before, the new chapter of One-punch man hitting Viz Media’s Shonen Jump Digital Library actually alters the events of the fight significantly. In fact, while the fight between the two seemed to be coming to an end as they were going to settle it in a very different matter, the new (and now truly canonical) version of Chapter 162 of the series actually kicked off a whole new phase of the fight between them instead.

The rewritten version of One-Punch Man Chapter 162 begins the same as before, as Saitama easily fends off all of Garou’s monstrous attacks. But rather than Garou’s attacks inadvertently helping people and proving he’s not as monstrous as he thought, this time he continues to wreak havoc on Earth and refuses to back down despite the gap of strength between the two. Instead of choosing to die at Saitama’s hands, Garou refuses to give up and becomes more monstrous than before.
While the previous version of the chapter ended with Saitama sitting Garou down for an intense conversation, this new version kicks the fight into a higher gear as the previously teased divine presence fully emerges and bonds with Garou. Tapping into the Hero Hunter’s rage at his weakness, this entity grants Garou a new level of cosmic power as the fighter prepares for a much more violent version of the fight with Saitama than previously seen.
This is a radical departure from the version of combat we had previously, so what do you think of the changes? Which version of the chapter did you prefer?
