Karl Marx, 26, embarks with his wife, Jenny, on the road to exile. In 1844 in Paris, he met Friedrich Engels, son of an industrialist, who was investigating the sordid birth of the British working class. Engels, the dandy, provides the final piece of the puzzle to young Karl Marx‘s new worldview. Together, between censorship and police repression, riots and political upheavals, they will lead the labor movement in its evolution towards a modern era.
