Yen Press has announced that it has obtained a license for the Sasaki and Miyano spin off manga Hirano and Kagiura for publication in North America. The series will be released in English later in October.
series creator Shou Harusono first published the Hirano and Kagiura spin-off in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Gene shoujo magazine in March 2019. Two volumes were released on May 7, 2022.

Harusono started the Sasaki and Miyano manga series in 2016 on the online magazine Pixiv Comic. So far, eight tankoubon volumes have been released, and the series includes an anime television adaptation, two light novels, and a drama CD series. The manga is published under Media Factory’s Gene Pixiv imprint.
A anime sequel for Sasaki and Miyano was first announced in March, shortly after the end of the first season. The first season featured 12 episodes in total with an additional OVA set to be released on July 27, 2022. Funimation streamed the series in English-speaking territories while the anime aired.
Shinji Ishihira (Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table) served as director for the first season of the anime. Other production staff on the series include Takahiro Ueno (extinct fairy episode director) as an assistant director, Yoshiko Nakamura (Princess sleeping in the demon’s castle) as a series screenwriter, Maki Fuujii (Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart) as a character designer, Masaki Mayuzumi (Dr Ramune -Specialist in Mysterious Diseases-) as artistic director, Katsuragi Imazato (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by the Light) as a color creator, Shinyo Kondo (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by the Light) as director of photography, and Kana Shibue (Devils’ Line) as a music composer. studio takes care of the production of the animation.
Yen Press describes the story of the series as follows:
It all started as a typical old-school boy romance – a bad senior boy meets an adorably awkward underclass, one of them falls in love, and so on. But while Miyano is a self-proclaimed boy love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he is one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!
